We bring enterprise-level financial discipline to growing businesses — translating the systems, controls, and rigour of Fortune 500 finance into practical structures that work for smaller teams.
In Fortune 500 environments, finance runs on clear roles, documented processes, approval controls, recurring reporting, and accountability at every level. That structure is not a luxury — it is what allows those companies to make confident decisions, move quickly, and scale without chaos.
Velo Advisory was built on the belief that growing businesses deserve the same. Not a watered-down version — the real thing, translated into practical systems that work for smaller teams and tighter budgets.
That means better visibility, cleaner processes, fewer surprises, and a finance function that supports growth instead of slowing it down.
Most fractional CFOs are solo consultants. Velo is different. Ryan leads every engagement at the CFO advisory level, backed by financial analysts and accounting professionals who keep your numbers current every week.
Ryan began his career as a CPA at Deloitte, where he developed a deep foundation in financial reporting, audit, and the rigour that underpins sound decision-making at scale. From there, he moved into finance leadership roles at larger organisations, where he saw first-hand how the right financial structure, clear reporting, forward-looking models, and a disciplined close process, allowed companies to make better decisions and grow with confidence.
He built Velo to bring that same discipline to the SMB market. Every engagement is led personally by Ryan, with the full backing of a coordinated team that keeps the books current, the forecasts updated, and the numbers trustworthy.
Ryan is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
We do not build generic financial models. Every model is anchored to what you are actually trying to achieve — whether that is a specific income level, a hiring plan, a capital raise, or an exit.
Your books and forecasts are maintained weekly — not just at month-end. When you need a number, it is there. When you ask a question, the answer is based on current data, not last month's close.
We have only ever lost clients because they grew large enough to hire in-house. That is the outcome we are working toward — helping you build a business that eventually outgrows the need for a fractional team.
